As Rayburn made cookers since 1946 there are many versions , different styles, fuels and conversions to confuse you!
I am aiming to clear out my stock of older model parts and have MOST BRICKS AND GRATES FOR EARLY RAYBURNS IN STOCK.

Rayburn G7 / G22 Gas Flame Failure Valves. These are OBSOLETE AND UNOBTAINABLE NEW - AS THE MAKERS WHO SUPPLIED RAYBURN ARE OUT OF BUSINESS. I buy in these models and strip out the burners, FFvs and thermostats

We can now supply NEW flame failure valves ( sometimes called mercury vapour valves) for both G7 and G33 cookers ( both sizes) or second hand ones at half new price

Determining your Rayburn Model

(1) Doors on front  . Does it have 2, 3 or 4 ?

(2) Hinged lid (s) on top . No - then its probably from 1946-1956 !

 Yes . Does it cover ALL the hob of 2 oven cooker of 3/4 of it? Would it hit the flue box if it covered all the hob? 

 One long heavy cast iron lid or 2? Colour of lid

  (3) Riddler. Can you riddle using a knob OUTSIDE the front - between ash pit door & lower oven ( 2 oven version? ) or do you have to push / pull the grate with bottom door open? If you open the door please observe the grate - one piece or several bars running front to back?

Forget pattern number on castings ( except grate numbers !) 

(4) Flue box . Is it square ? Or rectangular at base , bulging out to take flue at top ?

(5) Does your cooker run radiators?

(6)Measure it. is it 30" wide and high, or 33" wide and 32" high or bigger?

(7) Oven (s) on LEFT or RIGHT as you look at it?

The usual parts that wear out in solid fuel versions are

Boilers . When the ASH CAN is wet your boiler has a HOLE IN IT! Plus vat + delivery

New boilers supplied for ALL models from 1946- including those with top outlet pipes, central heating boilers for modifying Royals and Regents, MF & Supreme boilers have MUCH thicker steel  than the originals ( in my opinion )  GAS Nouvelle boilers - try me! Flue boxes . There a 4 different types on most Rayburns - again sometimes in stock .No 1 ,No2 & No3 VERY RARE second-hand, sorry ( over 40 years old!) but we can supply a pattern one in heavy gauge steel

   Riddler blocks & rods   All available - send your old one so I can match it.

Prices vary considerably . To make sure that the correct parts are obtained for your cooker there are 2 ways to check

(a) answer these questions and e mail the answers

(b) take a digi photo of your cooker FRONT plate and one from the TOP and mail it to me

Its far more difficult to get CAST IRON body parts but try me!

So you fancy your Rayburn being Re-Enamelled?

This is fraught with difficulties . Unlike AGAS , Rayburns are NOT designed to be dismantled once they leave the factory. They are bolted together with most parts actually joined to the front plate - so COMPLETE dismantling is the only answer.

Solid Fuel versions . Forget it - the castings are often warped and NO AMOUNT of work will straighten them - in fact they often get MUCH WORSE when re-fired to 800+ degrees centigrade.

Oil / Gas versions have an easier life - so sometimes can be done.
